There really are no limits when it comes to choosing a suitable photograph to transform into a remarkable work of art for display or decoration. Virtually any photo or snapshot can be transformed into a framed canvas portrait, or printed on a bag or cushion. Holiday sunsets, stormy weather, rural landscapes, close-ups of flowers in bloom and, of course, family snapshots and most other people photographs, all make wonderful subjects. Your photo can be supplied to us in any format. We can work from almost any image you provide - digital or photographic print - and reproduce it on canvas, with prices under £30 for a small picture, and we offer sizes up to 150cm x 150cm - which covers a very large wall space. When you have your own snaps blown up onto canvas, they don't even have to be a perfect image - an old family photo can be retouched, reproduced with an 'antiquey' sepia look, or worked on to improve old colours. If you are planning to use an image from your digital camera, the most important thing to remember is that the size and quality of your original image, will have a direct impact on the photographic quality of your canvas. To obtain the best quality image it is advisable to set your camera to the highest resolution. It is then very important that you select a canvas size suitable for your image. As a rule of thumb, the largest size your image can be printed (in inches) can be determined by dividing the pixel height and width of your image by 100. For example if your image is 1024 pixels by 768 pixels, then the maximum recommended size it can be printed at is 10.24 inches by 7.68 inches. Any size below this will avoid pixelation on the canvas print. We will remove any 'red eye' created by your camera's flash and then print a test swatch to ensure the correct colour reproduction and print clarity. After our Quality Control department has signed off your image, full printing begins. In some instances, we may need to crop the edges of photographs to fit product dimensions. In these cases, we will always focus on keeping the main subject intact, removing only the outer edges. Rest assured we've done this thousands of times, and always to good effect. The canvas is pulled taut across the 2" deep wooden frame and fixed neatly behind. The fixed edges are then taped to give a presentable finish ready to hang. Before we print your image, our studio begins by preparing the file - ensuring that colours reproduce at their best and, most importantly, that the image sits centrally within the frame to give the best results, especially where cropping is required. We also prepare the 'bleed' (required to wrap around the frame) to ensure your image location is ideal and to develop the full potential of your framed artwork.
